Noisy Burger, the first student-launched restaurant in Baltimore City!

Noisy Tenants collaborated with a group of work study students from Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School to develop their voice and impact on their school and community. We drove communication to discover their passions and post-high school plans. A majority of students aspired to own and operate a small business following graduation.

Noisy Burger! is a one week pop-up restaurant conceived by the work study students. Noisy Tenants facilitated connections with the newly opened R. House food hall in Remington. Students developed the concept, menu, and operated the restaurant in the pop-up stall at R. House. Noisy Burger! was featured on the front page of the Baltimore Sun and set records for weekend sales for pop-up and permanent locations.

Greenmount West Power Press, in collaboration with Mark Bradford

Noisy Tenants worked alongside GWCC leadership, Mark Bradford, and the Baltimore Museum of Art to launch the Greenmount West Power Press, a boutique screen printing studio housed within Greenmount West Community Center. The space serves as a resource for artists, families and youth within the community with proceeds from services and sales supporting GWCC programming.

Superheroes of Greenmount West

Recognizing the need for more positive perceptions of youth within the community, we launched  Superheroes of Greenmount West in collaboration with the Greenmount West Community Center.

Noisy Tenants led workshops, creative sessions, and on camera interviews with youth from the community center to help them visualize themselves as superheroes. Fostering relationships with local business and nonprofit entities, youth were featured in the Baltimore Museum of Art monthly magazine and on street banners that span from Museum Drive to Lanvale Street. With the help of the Under Armour #WEWILL campaign, our superheroes are also celebrated as #BMORESUPERHEROES on a mural in downtown Baltimore.

Additionally, our partnership with GWCC resulted in a podcast booth and state of the art Apple computer lab with iPads and Desktops for community use.
